Long story short, I'm 19 and inherited a Corrado G60 from an uncle some time ago. The car, I would say, isn't exactly in tip top condition
1:DASHBOARD DOES NOT WORK AT ALL, so, at any given time, I do not know how fast I'm going, what my rpm, temperate, mileage and GAS is, so I just fill it up every few days
2: My handbrake is frigggin lose, will barely hold on a hill
3: The engine is abnormally loud, possibly something wrong with the exhaust (can any corrado owners verify if their engines are extremely loud as well?)
4: The lights are so dim i can barely see 3 feet in front of me
5:I get this weird 'chug-a chug' sound when I downshift, particularly from the 4th to 3rd gear
6: When I dont step on the gas, the car does a strange 'leap/hop"
7: I was stuck in the rain once, and water started leaking from this little gap in the lights (talking about the lights inside)
8: I'm not sure about this, but I was told by my uncle to ONLY USE COOLANT for the car, and NO WATER, can any other corrado owner verify this?

Thats basically my story, so IF (GOD FORBID) anything goes wrong, does anyone know where I can find spare parts?
And finally, are there any other corrado owners out there?...i've only seen one other so far, red in colour with a black hood

So I was on the way home from college one day in my mom's Kelisa when my little space in the main porch was blocked by a Corrado G60 and the keys were waiting for me in the drawer...the rest is history...hopefully except the car

Dash lights - start simple and check fuse
Handbrake - quite possible you need brakes in the rear or at least adjusted. If by "loose" you mean the handle itself then check its mounting.
Exhaust - any shop able to repair the exhaust will be able to tell you quickly if there is a leak.

Sorry, but Uncle is wrong. Dont use just water alone either! Use a MIX. This not only protects the system from corrosion but has a HIGHER boiling point than either alone. You also need the coolant portion to lube the pump. And please do NOT remove the thermostat... no matter what anyone will tell you Malaysia does not have extreme conditions compared to other parts of the world and can use the same things others do.

The mix % is up to you but 50/50 is easier to measure.

The EXCEPTION would be if Uncle is buying PREmixed jugs of coolant.

Update!
Okay.....NO ONE can fix the dashboard...its beyond repair, so the nearest POSSIBILITY is singapore, and even then, there's no guarantee.
Got the handbrake fixed...apparently the ratchet or something was loose.
I got myself a whole new exhaust, cuz I went over a couple of bumps too fast (I'm guessing my uncle did the same thing all this while) and the whole thing kinda broke off.
I had a blown fuse taking care of the cooling system and my car started smoking up at the gas station....but we took care of that
Air con compressor went bust recently, got that fixed too.

Update!

For the last month my car's been in the shop. It all started when I stalled the car reversing from a parking lot. I DO NOT stall.
The next day the same thing happened and I realized that something was wrong. However, my mech couldnt do the job, and sent it to a wiring specialist in Kampung Subang Dua....This dude is one busy mechanic. 4 shoplots full of cars being fixed and he didnt have the time to really work on mine for the last month. Anyways, he said it might be a problem with the ECU, which basically means we're screwed.
Does anybody know anyone RELIABLE, or even someone they personally know within the VW forum who can do something or recommend me a mech?
GREATLY APPRECIATED

Here's what happens to my car: It pretty much does a continuous jolt when I slowly take the clutch off and press the accell. It's like a never-ending car stall. The only way I've figured to get the car moving from a stationary position is to blip the throttle, and put it in first gear.

Wish I could direct you to a specific place - sorry.

Your problem does not seem like an ECU failure to me though. I suppose its possible but I lean more toward sensor/wiring.

I started to suggest you may have issues with the throttle position sensor but from what I read the G60 may not have one. It DOES have other components that tell the ECU the same thing: "where is the throttle now?"

Have a look here:
http://forums.fourtitude.com/zerothread?id=3711152
Your mech can test these before you buy an ECU and can confirm these items are functioning.

Also, carbon buildup can cause all sorts of issues so while this is being looked at you should have the throttle body cleaned.

I have NOT checked for any fuel/ignition related topics

Hey everyone! Thanks for the help you guys have been giving me.
I've been directed to a VW mechanic who should be able to pinpoint the problem. And I managed to drive to school without getting killed today. Just turned the emergency lights on at every traffic light, takes me about 10 secs to get it moving so it's definitely a bad idea to try it out at a U-turn.
Just hope to get the car fixed by August for the event!

Haha....no...I'm afraid the ordeal is far from over.
In any case, I kinda get the feeling my parents are gonna just allow it to rot on our porch.

Fortunately, I have a plan!
My uncle told me to send the car to a man named Din, who now works at VW Cars Sdn Bhd.
AND YES, I'm sure you've all heard of their notorious service, and yes folks, it IS true, they keep hanging up on me every time they can't transfer the call. I've had to call like....3 friggin times, waiting on the phone for at least 3 minutes to find someone just hung up on me.
The only person around there who actually seems to be doing anything is this guy named Vicky (obviously not short for Victoria, but....eh...?)
So anyways, apparently they're on full capacity till Tuesday.

So the plan is, with the money I've saved up from years of lunch money, I shall tow my car to VW Cars in PJ, get the diagnostic ( which is a standard price of 150 bucks) and figure out what the heck is wrong with my car.
IF the bill ain't too bad ( let's cross our VW fingers!).....maybe I'll ask my parents...I mean....they can't just let a soon-to-be classic rot in their porch rite?

If not, I'll just tell my uncle that my parents don't wanna fix the car, and if HE does, I've already saved him the trouble of towing the car and figuring out how much it'll cost!

ALRIGHT! THE PLAN IS IN MOTION!
In less than an hour, the tow truck will arrive
My dad's out of the house (for a bit)
My mom's at the office
My aussie accomplice is on the way
AND WE ARE GOOD TO GO!

Okay! We're back...
funny thing....upon getting the tow thinggy inserted into the car and getting it out of my tiny driveway, we drove out of my housing area...and to my shock and horror, I saw my parents driving back in the opposite side of the road

Fortunately I told them I was paying for it.
Anyway...another blunder of VW Malaysia, I called them up yesterday, and they said they would open today.....but....I guess we were wrong.
I arrived there, fortunately there were like....2 guys there...and I left a message for the mechanics I spoke to earlier.
They'll run the diagnostics tomorrow. My uncle also mentioned that he knows the owner of VW Cars, probably through business, no idea how much that is going to come in handy.
