i agree with shawn. if they pay for most of the cost of a proton we would be able scrap our car and cut our losses. but else its just not worth it. the people are thinking short term. but when the time comes im sure that the people will complain about the new policy but by that point of time it will be too late. i think we need address this now itself. though i get the government's worry.. they think that after AFTA, these half-cuts will be coming in really cheap as they would be 'tax-less' and this will give rise to an increase old cars and mods. however they dont understand that the little people use these second hand imported parts as a way to keep their older cars running. lets see what happens...
