Had a short break today before the rain and I decided to start the investigation into recent engine issues...

The valve stem was just sitting there, so I pulled it out by hand... naturally this means the valve head is still there - possibly pounded into the head or part of the piston.

Spring was broken too and just fell out onto the driveway when I pulled the cover

These may not be the worst of it and I havent pull the engine yet but the shavings are not a welcome site...

nice update. not a good sign, but i would suggest salvaging whatever you can get from your engine and bring over to the new core.

your engine has led a very very hard life , it was built in 97 or 98.

expect to see the C35 to be worn s well.

Doubt I throw much away! What cannot be saved can always be used to make a lamp or clock. :)

Wondering what would be a good usable base from which to do another... if I just need the car drivable with used engine, then 1.3 fits that trans also right? Power not important.

Later I can collect parts or what not for 1.6+

yea 1.3 can fit in, but i suggest start looking for another core 1.6 engine.

unless you wana get new case everything in, this is the most feasible way to do it here in malaysia. yr current engine was built also from a jap 1.6 engine.
